Passenger in a taxi when the driver lost control and caused a serious collision

The client was a passenger in a taxi when she suffered serious injuries including a punctured left lung, bone injuries in the knee and PTSD. A settlement in excess of £40,000 was secured for the client.

Accident at a gym caused by defective exercise bike

The client suffered an ankle injury when the pedal on the exercise bike she was using snapped. It was successfully argued that the gym had breached the duty of care owed to the client by failing to provide an exercise bike that was safe to use.

Accident at work caused by colleague's carelessness

Acted for the client in a claim against his employer. He was unloading a tractor wheel with his colleague when his colleague's carelessness caused the wheel to fall out of his hand and land on our client's hand. The client suffered a wrist fracture as a result. It was successfully argued that the employer was vicariously liable for the injuries because the colleague was careless in the handling of the wheel.

A fall outside a GP surgery caused by unstable flagstone

The client tripped on a protruding and unstable flagstone outside a GP surgery suffering broken bones in her wrist. Damages were recovered successfully against the managing agents of the path outside the surgery by asserting that they failed to provide a safe path for the client to walk on.

Client falls into a manhole

The client was walking on top of a manhole cover when it gave way and caused the client to suffer soft tissue injuries. Successfully pursued the utilities company which was responsible for covering the manhole arguing that the utilities company was negligent in failing to ensure the cover was safe to walk on.

Accident at work caused by employer's failure to provide suitable equipment

The client was installing a windscreen on a car. He suffered rib cartilage injuries after having to exert more force than he would have needed had he been provided with the proper equipment to carry out the installation. We successfully made a claim against his employer by stating that the employer failed in its duty of care because the failure to provide proper equipment amounted to negligence.

Accident at work caused by employer's failure to provide suitable protective gloves

The client hurt his finger when a metal galv rail he was fitting into a vent on a roof cut through his protective gloves. We successfully asserted that his employer was negligent for failing to provide gloves which were fit for purpose because they failed to protect him from getting injured by the galv rail. Damages were recovered for the injury.

Slip on wet floor in a supermarket

The client slipped on a wet floor in a supermarket caused by water. He suffered soft tissue injuries. We successfully argued that the supermarket was negligent and breached its statutory duties to keep the client safe.

The client was fitting signs in a factory when a forklift truck being driven by a colleague collided into his right ankle and caused injuries. Relying on the principles of vicarious liability a claim was made against his employer successfully for damages.

The client suffered foot injuries after stepping out of her car into a pothole in the forecourt of a fuel station. It was successfully argued the owner of the fuel station breached its duty of care owed to the client by failing to keep the forecourt in a safe condition.

The client was coming down scaffolding with a bucket of cement when he fell causing injuries. Successfully recovered damages by arguing that a failure to provide a pulley by his employer caused him to fall as it was not safe to come down scaffolding holding a bucket of cement without a pulley.
